# van.html

X is the name of a group of people who adhere to certain ideals.

# X

falling star studio

prefix

I founded X with the goal of building a platform that could enable me to
dedicate my time to creation. X helps me orient my life, and create things that
I care about.

# Ideals of X

X is opinionated.

when we make something, these are our touchstones:

- simplicity
  - minimal
  - easy to learn

- efficiency
  - low power
  - fast

- maintainability
  - easy for an individual to service
  - work everything out in the open
  - low/no dependencies (on companies or individuals)

- speed
  - produce a lot, quickly, and move on from what isn't working
  - move fast, break things, nothing is permanent
  - software should feel fast

- reliability
  - strive to work correctly every single time
  - obvious error handling

- aesthetic
  - ascii text-centric
  - with emojis
  - feels retro and punk-like
  - feels good to use

- designed to die
  - unpredictable release patterns
  - no maintenance guarantees
  - no security guarantees
  - no support
  - no SLAs

support is something that companies do for money. we will not do it in our free
time. ask your other friends. or, get out of your americanized customer-service
headspace and stop expecting so much. you can still ask us for things, but there
is no guarantee that anyone will care or do anything at all.

## Bed / Office / Couch
in order to live in a tiny space, everything must have more than one purpose.
the bed converts easily into a couch, and folds away to make room for a full
office setup.
